The Science for Stronger Societies (Science & Future)

The "Science for Stronger Societies (Science&Future)" Project aims to promote resilient cities and sustainable development through activities focused on strengthening resilient buildings and infrastructure in the context of climate change and natural disaster adaptation. This project is part of the European Union's Green Deal Strategy under the Horizon Europe Programme MSCA&Citizens.

The general objectives of the project are as follows:

  • To raise awareness about strengthening resilient and smart buildings and infrastructure for climate change adaptation.
  • To increase understanding of protecting the social and natural environment to maintain citizens' well-being.
  • To raise awareness of sustainable food consumption and promote affordable, healthy food for everyone.
  • To create awareness among citizens about zero waste and pollution to protect biodiversity and ecosystems.
  • To highlight the role of forests in enhancing societal resilience against climate change.

The project, coordinated by Sakarya University, will continue until 2026, with the participation of T.C. Sakarya Governorship, Kocaeli University, and Düzce University as partners. T.C. Düzce Governorship and Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education will also participate as associate partners.
