EUROPEAN RESEARCHERS' NIGHT HELD AT KOÜ | "The European Researchers' Night, hosted by Kocaeli University as part of the Science&Future project, aimed to encourage young people to pursue research and break down social prejudices." The Science&Future project, implemented under the Horizon Europe Marie Curie Actions and coordinated by Sakarya University, organized a major event hosted by Kocaeli University. Kocaeli University, Düzce University, and the Governorship of Sakarya were involved as project partners, while the Governorship of Düzce, Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education, and VakıfBank contributed as associate partners. The event took place at the Kocaeli University Prof. Dr. Baki Komsuoğlu Culture and Convention Center as part of the European Researchers' Night. Conducted in line with the European Union's Green Deal Strategy, the project prioritized goals such as adapting to climate change and strengthening resilient building and infrastructure systems against natural disasters. Furthermore, activities were carried out to inspire young people toward the research profession and to dismantle existing societal prejudices regarding researchers. The event was attended by many high school and middle school students from Kocaeli, as well as notable figures including Kocaeli Deputy Governors İsmail Gültekin and Mustafa Ayhan, Kocaeli University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Elif Öğüt, Provincial Director of National Education Ömer Akmanşen, and Project Coordinator Prof. Dr. Sevil Veli. The opening featured speeches by Prof. Dr. Elif Öğüt, Prof. Dr. Sevil Veli, Ömer Akmanşen, and İsmail Gültekin. Filled with scientific talks, workshops, and various experiments, the European Researchers' Night was held simultaneously on the campuses of other project partners.
