As part of the Horizon Europe project "Science & Future: The Science for Stronger Societies," coordinated by Sakarya University in partnership with Kocaeli University, Düzce University, and the Governorship of Sakarya—with the Governorship of Düzce, Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education, and VakıfBank as stakeholders—the third "Researchers at Schools" event was held at Darıca Gökşen Mustafa Yücel Anatolian High School.

The event, designed to raise awareness among primary and high school students regarding climate change, natural disasters, and resilient cities, was carried out with the contributions of academics from Kocaeli University (KOÜ). Students showed great interest in the presentations and workshops titled "Electricity Generation with Renewable Energy Sources" and "The Key to Sustainability with the Right Words and Visuals: The Greatest Power in Your Hands."

The program was attended by many students and began with opening speeches by Murat Balay, the Darıca District Director of National Education, and Prof. Dr. Sevil Veli, the Sustainability Office Coordinator. In his speech, Balay emphasized the value of Kocaeli University academics meeting with secondary and high school students in such scientific events, while Prof. Dr. Veli highlighted the project's significance and the activities conducted to date.
